Multi-Award Winning Massacre Haunted House Expands for 2018

October 13 12:20 2018

The award-winning team behind the Massacre Haunted House has opened their doors for their 9th season and is already ranking once again as one of the scariest haunted houses in Illinois.  For this year, “The Massacre Haunted House” has undergone their largest renovation to date by expanding over 10,000 square feet, bringing this haunted attraction to a massive 30,000 total square feet of terror.

New for 2018, The Massacre doubled the size of their indoor heated waiting area. It is now complete with a stage, featuring live entertainment to keep the crowd entertained on high volume busy nights. From there, customers will get a chance to take a photo with a very familiar giant spider clown that has gone viral since its debut at the Transworld Halloween Convention in St Louis back in early 2018.

Inside the haunted attraction, people will discover new areas including a fan favorite laser swamp, a mesmerizing gothic church complete with a giant Baphomet standing over 12-foot tall, and within the 3D attraction a full size ice cream truck on airbags and CGI effects making you feel like you are riding down the road while being tormented by clowns.

“We’ve remodeled and amped up nearly every room, as well as adding over a dozen new rooms with state-of-the-art special effects and attention to detail like you would see on a Hollywood movie set,” said Owner and Creative Designer of The Massacre, Ryan Burke. “Be prepared to be scared from every angle, we’ve added actor scare-boxes in unique places that you would never see coming.”

He also added, “We have expanded our makeup department and brought on Michelle Gore who has worked in the film business and is a master of special effects makeup.”

Massacre Haunted House has been one of Illinois’ top haunted attractions for nine consecutive years.  It has been entitled as the “#1 Haunted House in Illinois” by both HauntedIllinois.com as well as The Chicago Tribune. It also has been accredited as a top Haunted House by USA Today, Fox News, HauntedHouseChicago.com and many more.
